Even if our trade policy actually plays a role in decreasing middle class wages, I can still buy you roses because I have that big bonus I got when I left Citigroup for government service.


And I am sorry that the trade deals I pushed when I was in the Clinton administration led to so many decently-paid American jobs being offshored so the workers were forced to compete for lower-paying jobs. Yes, most economists agree this is part of why middle class wages have failed to grow but I do not think I am being contrary to say TPP will be different. Can you stop obsessing about TPP putting U.S. workers into competition with Vietnamese workers making 59 cents an hour, please?
